Matt Laslo: “I didn't get you last week on the DEA — what do you think of them moving to reschedule marijuana?”
Rand Paul: “We'll see. I don't have a statement for you on it.”
ML: “Yeah? Where are you on SAFER Banking Act, for that one?”
RP: “We're still pushing, but I haven't heard anything — any progress on it lately.”
ML: “Yeah?”
Attendant: “Oops, sorry sir.”
ML: “Preciate ya.
Paul and his staffer keep walking to bank of elevators underneath Senate floor, so Laslo flips around to ask his last question.
ML: “Oh, where would you be on clemency for past marijuana convictions?”
RP: “What's that?”
ML: “Where would you be on clemency for past marijuana convictions?”
RP: “I don't have an easy answer for you right now. We have advocated to give people who had convictions second chances.”
ML: “Yep? Preciate ya.”
